Jeff Uju Cares Foundation

Every Child deserves school, food & care

We are a Nigerian Lagos-based foundation supporting children aged 5 to 12. We enroll out-of-school children into public primary schools, serve daily lunches, and provide targeted pediatric checkups for boys and girls.

For Children

Between the ages of 5 and 12.

Education

Helping children get back into the classroom and stay there.

Nutrition

Helping ensure children don't have to learn on an empty stomach.

Health

Providing basic medical care and health support designed around children's needs.

No child should have to choose school. food. care.

No child should be out of school, hungry, or without medical care because of where they were born. Jeff Uju Cares Foundation exists to change that, one child, one classroom, one meal, one health check at a time.

Who We Are

Jeff Uju Cares Foundation (JUCF) is a Nigerian nonprofit organization based in Lagos State, registered since January 2016 and dedicated entirely to the welfare of children between the ages of 5 and 12. We focus on three connected problems that stand between a child and a healthy childhood: being out of school, going hungry even while enrolled, and lacking access to basic medical care.

Our Mission

To connect global generosity with the everyday needs of vulnerable Nigerian children, ensuring that no child within our reach is out of school, hungry, or without basic medical care because of where they were born.

Our Vision

A generation of Nigerian children, boys and girls alike who grow up fed, educated, healthy, and equally valued.

Our Programs

We run three connected programs, each designed with boys’ and girls’ distinct needs in mind rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Education

Getting and Keeping Children in School.
We identify out-of-school children in our communities and work to get them back into the classroom, and stay there.

Nutrition

Ending Classroom Hunger.
A child cannot learn on an empty stomach. We make sure that isn't a choice any child in our program has to make.

Health

Care Designed for Every Child.
Basic medical care changes everything for a child's ability to learn, grow, and thrive, and we deliver it differently for boys and girls, because their needs aren't the same.

Why JUCF Matters

Nigeria has one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world. For children aged 5 to 12, missing school and proper nutrition during these years can shape the rest of their lives.

Hunger makes the problem worse, many children who are enrolled in school still attend without having eaten, which affects their ability to concentrate, stay enrolled, and finish the school year. And basic medical needs like deworming, malaria treatment, and general health screening are often simply out of reach for the families we serve.

We know that boys and girls face different risks. Girls are more likely to be withdrawn early for domestic duties. Boys are more likely to be pulled into labor or street trading. That is why JUCF designs specialized interventions for both.
